Mile 593

Location: St. Louis, Missouri, USA

We left at 8am and drove for 8 hours today. Insanity. Only stopped once to switch drivers. We made it 360 miles on eight gallons of gas. I love my car.

Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois are alright scenery-wise but I can't wait until we get to the desert in New Mexico. I want to see mountains :)

V's cousin is putting us up in a hotel in St. Louis--AMAZING :)

Mile Zero

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA

I just finished my last final today. It feels good to be done with it all. Tomorrow I pick up V from the airport and we start the long drive out to California. I'm excited but a little bit wary; I had a job and now I don't/so I'll be out there in the big city/looking light and not feeling so pretty . . .

I'm sitting in my half-empty dorm room right now, stuffed boxes all over the place, hoping that leaving is the right decision, cuz God knows, I haven't made many of those lately. That's probably a bit dramatic, but let's just say I'll be glad to finally get out of Ann Arbor.

I emailed C, the lady I'm renting from in Culver City, to let her know I'll be on my way soon, and she told me she just bought me a bed--it's a "desk-bed" she says. I've never heard of that but I think it's one of those ones that folds up into the wall while a desk drops down. I guess I'll have to start making my bed every day. Tragic.

V and I talked on the phone today about stopping in Sedona on our way out--I think that would make my year. We might stay with a friend of mine in Colorado, but it looks like I'll have to give her a call; she's been MIA on Facebook for weeks now.

I can't wait to get back to LA. I really enjoy working in a an office. I feel like I'm doing something--I find answering phones and filling out paperwork strangely satisfying--of course, it would be even more so if it were for pay, but it's already been made clear that that's not going to happen so I'll just have to deal . . . I'll be looking for a side job to pay the rent. Anybody looking for a barista?

Next time I post, it will be on the road. Let the miles start rolling.
